CalRTA Division 6 BYLAWS CHANGES NEED APPROVAL
By Betty Soennichsen, Bylaws Chair
From time to time the CalRTA State officers make amendments to the State Bylaws. If they make changes to any of the parts that are required to also be in the Divisions Bylaws, then we must amend ours also to match those of the State.
The State recently made some amendments that require us to change our Division 6 Bylaws to match the State Bylaws. I, as Bylaws Chair for our Division, have made these changes, and have gotten the approval of the State Bylaws Chair, Paul Paolino, that they are in agreement with the State. Now in the process, our Division must approve the changes to our Division Bylaws. None of the recent State changes are substantive, but they must be approved nevertheless.
The Division Bylaws are five pages long, so we didn’t want to take up five pages of the Monitor in order for all of you to be able to read them. We are going to have them online. We would like to encourage those of you that are interested in bylaws, and any of you that are not, to read them. The changes are printed in red. None of them are substantive; most of them are just a rearrangement of words. We don’t have to have a quorum for the vote, but we would like a reasonable number voting.
