Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital atStanford Additional volunteers needed to fulfill promise of non-profit gift shop expansion in exciting new Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. Bringing a smile to a patient, family, visitor or staff member or helping to find the perfect gift is a joy every day of the week. Roth Auxiliary’s dedicated volunteers operate the gift shop with the help of a full time manager. All profits, over $2 million since 1991, are donated for children’s care. Commitment is a minimum of 2 four-hour shifts per month and training is provided. The new gift shop, looking out over large gardens, will be twice the size of our current shop when the new addition is opened in 2017. Hidden Villa: Outdoor Education
Hidden Villa’s Environmental Education Program is recruiting volunteers to guide school groups around the farm, in the organic garden, and out on the trails using hands-on activities that can lead children to a deeper understanding of nature. This is a wonderful opportunity for retired teachers who enjoy being in the outdoors. Each week during the school year you will have an opportunity to guide a new group of students, enriching both their lives and yours.
As a volunteer, you would ideally guide one day per week (Tuesday – Friday) and be a part of a wonderful volunteer community. Volunteers can choose between two weekday programs:
1. Farm Tour Program (pre-K – 1st grade) from 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
2. Farm and Wilderness Exploration Program (2nd – 6th grade) from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Orientation and Training is provided. Please contact Daniel – volunteers@hiddenvilla.org
